The lawyer did his best selling job, and finally the rancher agreed to take half of what he was asking. After the rancher had signed the release and took the check, the young lawyer couldn’t resist gloating a little over his success, telling the rancher, _You know, I hate to tell you this, old man,but I put one over on you in there. I couldn’t have won the case. The engineer was asleep and the fireman was in the caboose when the train went through your ranch that morning. I didn’t have one witness to put on the stand. I bluffed you!”

When it rains and their tails get wet, they will take care of their tails for a long times, and won't fly high into the sky, not giving any care to the arrival of the hunters. Thus, they get caught in the end.

Once a fox invited a stork to dinner. He put nothing on the table except some soup in a very shallow dish.

The fox could easily lap up the soup, but the stork could only wet the end of her long bill in it.

When she left the meal, she was still very hungry. _I am sorry,_ said the fox, _the soup is not to your taste._

_Please do not apologize,_ said the stork. _I hope you will come to my house, and dine with me soon._

A few days later the fox visited the stork. He found that his food was put in a long bottle, and the mouth of the bottle was very narrow.

He could not insert his big mouth into it, so he ate nothing. _I will not apologize,_ said the stork. _One bad turn deserves another._
